Legionnaires survival rate is low
A womans’s story in Cleveland reminds of Legionella control is so important and indeed why the ACoP L8 guidelines exist.
Wanda Davis lost an entire year of her life fighting Legionnaires’ disease and is current having physical therapy 3 times a week to help with her recovery.
Without the context of survivors and victims, legionella control remains a unemotive chore, a cost and a burden of time. We should see legionella control for what it actually is – the saving of lives. It should be the single most important role a statutory duty holder should have.
